With the dust of my Guru's lotus feet, I clean the mirror of my mind, and then narrate the sacred glory of Shri Ram Chandra, the Supreme among the Raghu dynasty, the giver of the four attainments of life.

Bal Buddhi Vidya Dehu Mohi, Harahu Kalesh Bikaar.

Knowing myself to be ignorant, I invoke you, O Hanuman, the son of Pavan! O Lord, kindly bestow on me strength, wisdom and knowledge, removing all my miseries and blemishes.

Jai Hanuman Gyan Guna Sagar, Jai Kapis Tihun Lok Ujagar.

Victory to thee, O Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue. Victory to the lord of monkeys, well known throughout the three worlds.

Ramdoot Atulit Bal Dhama, Anjani Putra Pavansut Nama.

You, the divine messenger of Ram and repository of immeasurable strength, are known as Anjani-putra and as the son of the wind, Pavan-sut.

Mahabir Bikram Bajrangi, Kumati Nivar Sumati Ke Sangi.

O Hanumanji, you are valiant and brave, with a body strong as a thunderbolt. You dispel the darkness of evil thought and are the companion of good sense and wisdom.

Kanchan Baran Biraaj Subesa, Kanan Kundal Kunchit Kesa.

Shri Hanumanji's complexion is golden. His attire is beautiful, wearing kundal ear-rings, and his hair is long and curly.

Shri Hanumanji holds a thunderbolt mace in one hand and a banner in the other, with the sacred thread across his shoulder.

O Hanumanji, you are the emanation of Shiva and delight of Kesari. Ever radiant, your glory holds sway over the universe, and the entire world reveres you.

O Shri Hanumanji, you are learned, virtuous and ever resourceful, and forever eager to accomplish Shri Ram's work.

You delight in hearing the story of the Lord's deeds. Shri Ram, Sita and Lakshman ever dwell within your heart.

Sukshma Roop Dhari Siyahi Dikhawa, Bikat Roop Dhari Lank Jarawa.

You appeared before Sita in a tiny form and spoke to her, then assumed a fearsome form to set Lanka ablaze.

Bhim Roop Dhari Asur Sanhare, Ramchandra Ke Kaj Sanvare.

Taking a mighty and terrible form, you destroyed the demons and accomplished all of Shri Ram's tasks.

Laye Sajivan Lakhan Jiyaye, Shri Raghubir Harashi Ur Laye.

Bringing the sanjivani herb, you revived Lakshman, and Shri Ram embraced you with a joyful heart.

By heeding your counsel, Vibhishan became the Lord of Lanka, as is known throughout the world.

You alone can contain your own might — when you roar, the three worlds tremble.
